David Moyes admits he is facing an anxious wait over the fitness of Everton new-boy Joseph Yobo.

The Nigerian World Cup defender was forced off the field during the first half of the 6-0 pre-season win against Queen's Park.

Yobo was injured in a collision with John Gemmell and was taken to hospital with a knock to his lower leg.

Moyes said: "He has got a knock and gone to the hospital for an x-ray. So I am just waiting for a result on that. He was caught on the fibula which has become swollen.

"He was very sore when he came in but I cannot tell you any more on it just yet."

Meanwhile, Moyes is confident goalkeeper Richard Wright will join the club.

The England international is now talking over a move north with his family as Moyes awaits an answer.

Moyes said: "It is not quite complete yet. I am waiting on a call.

"He is just thinking over the move. We had him at Goodison today and I met him at the weekend as well.

"It is just between him and his family now over whether he decides to move north."
