Longford take three points from Rovers
Shamrock Rovers 0 Longford Town 1
Alan Kirby earned Town their first win of the season on a traumatic day for Rovers' boss Liam Buckley whose father died over the weekend.
Kirby struck for the only goal of the game on 71 minutes.
Rovers' keeper Tony O'Dowd flapped at a cross from Seamus Crowe and Kirby scooped home the loose ball.
Town keeper Stephen O'Brien then made a last minute save from a Pat Scully header to seal all three points.
