Sonner seals Saddlers switch

Walsall have signed Danny Sonner on a one-year contract from Birmingham City.

Walsall have signed Danny Sonner on a one-year contract from Birmingham City.

The 30-year-old has been capped seven times by Northern Ireland.

Saddlers boss Colin Lee said: "He will strengthen our midfield and create much-needed competition in the middle of the park."

He added: "He is a player with the necessary experience who knows the First Division scene well and has a strong desire to return to the Premiership stage.

"The added bonus is that we can use him in a dual role, he can sit in the middle of the park and also has the ability to get forward and score goals.

"He has also played alongside Martin O'Connor before and the pair struck up a good understanding at Birmingham as the club enjoyed some memorable moments. Hopefully we can recreate that here."
