Houllier says spending may continue

Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier claims his summer spending spree may not be over as he closed in on completing Lee Bowyer’s signing from Leeds.

On a busy day at Liverpool, the Reds moved closer towards finalising Bowyer’s £9million deal following the midfielder’s medical yesterday, while £10m (€15.6m) striker El Hadji Diouf signed a five-year contract to set the seal on his transfer from Lens.
