Draw puts Drogheda top
Shelbourne 3 Drogheda United 3
Drogheda came from behind three times to earn a point in this battle of the champions from last season's Premier and First Divisions and put themselves top of the table.
Gary Cronin put through his own goal to gift Shels the lead on six minutes.
But Derek Delaney levelled 30 minutes later from close range.
Shels restored their lead within a minute when Stuart Byrne's shot squirmed through the hands of Drogheda keeper Gary Rogers.
But Drogheda hit back again when Delaney scored his second to punish a Steve Williams fumble two minutes before the break.
Trevor Molloy restored Shels' lead for a third time eight mintues into the second half with the goal of the night.
But Drogheda battled back once more and Stuart Taylor levelled again on 69 minutes to give Harry McCue's men a fully-deserved point.
