Ahern rejects calls to intervene in FAI fiasco

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has rejected calls for the Government to intervene in the fiasco which saw the FAI sell the TV rights to Ireland’s home internationals to Sky Sports.

Supporters of the team had called on the Government to buy back the rights by paying the FAI what it originally wanted to allow these games to be shown on Irish terrestrial television.
