Taylor open to Boateng offers

Aston Villa boss Graham Taylor has admitted defeat in the battle to keep midfielder George Boateng at the club and is willing to consider ‘‘any appropriate offers’’ for the player.

The Dutchman handed in a transfer request at the end of last season and despite talks with Taylor yesterday, Boateng is determined to leave Villa Park.
