Former Longford Town manager Martin Lawlor has said he is baffled by the club’s decision to sack him just two days before the start of the new Eircom League season.

Former Longford Town manager Martin Lawlor has said he is baffled by the club’s decision to sack him just two days before the start of the new Eircom League season.

Lawlor was informed of the decision yesterday after spending just seven months in charge at Flancare Park.

His assistant manager, Alan Matthews, and coach Aaron Callaghan will take charge of team affairs for tomorrow’s game against Bray Wanderers.
