Blatter threatens to cut national leagues

Fifa president Sepp Blatter has threatened to intervene in national leagues and continental club championships to limit the number of games and protect players from fatigue and injury.

Players, doctors and coaches at the World Cup have been complaining about domestic seasons that may include more than 70 games.
