No McCarthy interest from Leeds

Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy looks to be out of the running to replace the sacked David O'Leary at Leeds.

Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy looks to be out of the running to replace the sacked David O'Leary at Leeds.

McCarthy has been strongly linked and heavily backed to be the new Elland Road boss.

But with O'Leary hinting his successor had already been lined up, McCarthy's business advisor would appear to have ruled the Republic boss out of the reckoning.

"At this point in time nobody has been in contact with Mick from Leeds United or any other club," Liam Gaskin told Sky Sports News.

"He has signed his two-year contract with the FAI and remains the Ireland manager."
