Boyd decides to stay at Celtic
Tom Boyd says he will stay at Celtic for another year, despite offers from several other clubs.
The Hoops skipper has spent the summer deliberating over his future after Martin O'Neill offered him a one-year extension to his contract.
Boyd sought advice from fellow professionals and family before making the decision to turn down other clubs who were interested in signing him.
He admits the lure of another year at Parkhead was too good an offer to refuse.
"I'll be staying at Celtic," said Boyd. "I've not put pen to paper on anything yet, but I don't anticipate there being any problems.
"The boys all report back for pre-season training next week, so I would like to think that something will be finalised very soon.
"There were a few other offers on the table, but my first choice was always to stay at Celtic.
"I received a lot of good advice from a few ex-pros, guys who I respect, who all said I'd be mad to leave when the club still wanted me.
"Now I'm just looking forward to the new season."
