Lucio expected to be fit for Brazil
Brazil defender Lucio is receiving treatment for a knee injury but is expected to be fit for tomorrow’s quarter-final with England.
The Bayer Leverkusen centre-back trained separately from his team-mates yesterday, running laps around the pitch.
‘‘He suffered a hit in the right knee against Belgium, and he has some pain,’’ said Jose Luis Runco.
‘‘We decided to do some muscular work, but tomorrow he will rejoin his team-mates.’’
Goalkeeper Marcos also worked separately, but not because of an injury.
He and goalkeeping coach Carlos Pracidelli practised dealing with high balls into the box.
The large number of British journalists, photographers and cameramen in attendance meant Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari decided against holding his planned match practice.
