Korean star may face chop for his Italian job
South Korean hero Ahn Jung-Hwan is facing the sack from Serie A club Perugia.
Ahn, whose extra-time golden goal sent Italy crashing out of the World Cup, has an uncertain future in Italian football.
Perugia owner Luciano Gaucci has threatened to fire Ahn, according to several Italian papers.
"I am not going to pay the salary of a guy who has been the ruin of Italian soccer," Gaucci told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Ahn has been on loan at Perugia from K-League club Busan since the start of the 2000-2001 season.
