Boehme out of World Cup

German midfielder Joerg Boehme has been ruled out of the rest of the World Cup with a leg muscle tear.

The 27-year-old Schalke 04 player sustained the injury in training and flew home today accompanied by team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt.

Boehme, who has six caps, was a last-minute replacement for injured playmaker Sebastian Deisler. He didn't play in any of his team's opening round matches.
