Irish focus on Cameroon/Saudi clash

Irish eyes will be on the Cameroon and Saudi Arabia Group E match at the World Cup today after Mick McCarthy’s men kept their hopes alive yesterday of reaching the second round.

Robbie Keane’s last-gasp equaliser against Germany gave Ireland their second point of the competition and a win over Saudi Arabia next week could see them qualify from Group E.

However, the shape of the group depends on the outcome of today’s game, with Cameroon expected to win comfortably.

Whatever the scoreline, Ireland will have to better it next Tuesday to ensure a place in the second round.
