Bierhoff: "Klose is the new Voller"

Oliver Bierhoff believes hat-trick hero Miroslav Klose is the new Rudi Voller.

The 23-year-old Klose scored his third treble of the year for the national side as they demolished Saudi Arabia 8-0 in Sapporo on Saturday.

Coach Voller scored 47 international goals during his playing career but Kaiserslautern’s Klose is quickly catching up with 11 from just 13 games.

Former captain Bierhoff said: ‘‘He is very much like Rudi Voller, even if Miroslav is stronger with his head.

‘‘Rudi was a great player, however Miroslav is enjoying some good times in his career.

‘‘He showed against Saudi Arabia how good he can be. He has all the technical and physical attributes, he is very good with his head and has a great instinct for the goal.’’
