Caniggia confident he'll be fit for England

Claudio Caniggia is confident he will be fit to face England on June 7, even though he has been ruled out of Argentina's World Cup opener against Nigeria

The Rangers striker suffered a knee injury in the Scottish Cup final victory against Celtic.

His hopes of being fit to face Nigeria have been dashed.

"Sadly I won't make it," he said. "I've had a setback of one or two days in my recovery, and I will not be ready for Saturday.

"I hope to be ready for the match against England. But now I have to wait until the ligament gets stronger, to begin a harder football practice.

"Because when I make some movements, I don't feel right, and I don't want to take any risk."
