Cameroon hopeful Mboma will face Ireland
Cameroon coach Winfried Schafer has said he is hopeful that the country’s star player, Patrick Mboma, will be fit to face Ireland in the World Cup on Saturday.
The Sunderland striker had his foot examined and taped this morning before rejoining his team-mates on the field for a training session.
"Patrick Mboma is getting regular treatment everyday by our medical staff and independently he does training for his foot," Schafer said.
"His injury has stabilised. I’m very hopeful that he will be fit to play in our opening game on Saturday against Ireland."
