Rumours of return to Japan for Keane

Speculation is mounting that former Republic of Ireland captain Roy Keane will travel to the World Cup in the next few hours.

Sources close to the player have suggested the Manchester United midfielder is willing to apologise to Ireland manager Mick McCarthy for abusive language he used during an altercation last week.

Sources also suggest travel arrangements have been made for the dissident star to make his way from Manchester to the Irish squad's base at Izumo.
