Boro's offer for Benni accepted

Middlesbrough have had a £6m (€9m) offer for South Africa's Benni McCarthy accepted, according to reports.

The offer was accepted by McCarthy's Spanish club, Celta Vigo, according to his agent, Rob Moore.

But McCarthy's involvement in the World Cup finals makes it difficult for personal discussions to take place, the Middlesbrough Evening Gazette says.
