Saints chase Swedish star

Southampton are looking to bolster their defence by luring Sweden international Michael Svensson to England.

The 26-year-old plays for French side Troyes.

Svensson is in Japan for the World Cup and should make his decision when he returns.

A Troyes spokesman said: "Some of Southampton's representatives came to the club to see him play and we are ready to listen to them."
