FAI: No way back for Keane

The Football Association of Ireland today maintained there was no way back for Roy Keane into the World Cup squad.

Brendan Menton, chief executive of the FAI, arrived in Japan last night hoping there might still be a chance for a reconciliation between national boss Mick McCarthy and Manchester United skipper Keane, who was sensationally axed from the squad on Thursday following his verbal attack on the manager.
