Derby manager John Gregory has been fined £5,000 (€7,889) plus costs after being found guilty of improper conduct and abusive language to a match official.

The Rams boss has also been warned as to his future conduct by an FA disciplinary panel following his comments to the fourth official during his side’s FA Barclaycard Premiership clash with Newcastle.

Gregory, who had exercised his right to request a personal hearing, was banished to the stands towards the end of the game at Pride Park on April 13 as Newcastle came from 2-0 down to record a 3-2 win that pushed the Rams to the brink of the Nationwide League.
