Keane nearly missed FIFA deadline
FIFA confirmed today that Ireland had beaten the deadline to include skipper Roy Keane in their World Cup squad.
The Manchester United midfielder sent shockwaves through the Irish camp when he told manager Mick McCarthy last night that he wanted to go home, citing personal problems and worries about his troublesome knee as the reasons.
