6 minutes: Owen Hargreaves wins the ball and surges forward to the edge of the Korean penalty area. Slips a pass to Michael Owen, who is judged just offside.

14: Hargreaves finds Owen unmarked on the left and the England captain races towards goal, attempts to curl the ball over goalkeeper Lee Woon-jae but misses the target and Darius Vassell almost bundles it in.

26: GOAL: Owen heads to Emile Heskey on the edge of the box, he feeds Paul Scholes who strikes a left-footed first-time shot which is saved by Lee Woon-jae, only for Owen to poke the ball into the net from six yards. ENGLAND 1 SOUTH KOREA 0.

31: Danny Mills makes an excellent burst into the box and shoots on the run, but his effort is blocked.

32: Lee Chun-soo has a chance from a 20-yard free-kick but his effort loops too high.

38: England back off Hong Myung-Bo, who hits a superb shot from 25 yards which is heading for the top corner until Nigel Martyn tips over.

52: GOAL: Two England substitutes are found wanting as South Korea equalise. Martin Keown is outjumped by Choi Jin-cheul at a corner, he flicks the ball on and Teddy Sheringham is left flat-footed as Park Ji-sung heads powerfully past David James. ENGLAND 1 SOUTH KOREA 1.

60: Joe Cole uses Sheringham’s run as a decoy before cutting in and letting fly from 20 yards, but well wide.

62: Cole lights up the second half with some fantastic flashes of skill, but is well-tackled as he runs into the penalty area.

68: Kim Nam-il tries his luck from 30 yards but is way off-target.

78: Hargreaves wins a free-kick wide on the right, Trevor Sinclair whips it in and Vassell wins the header but cannot direct it on target.

90: Ahn Jung-hwan tries, David Beckham-style, to lob James from inside his own half but his effort is off-target.
