England had taken the lead when Michael Owen bundled the ball home from close range in the 25th minute after Paul Scholes’ effort had been blocked.

But Korea equalised in the 52nd when Choi outjumped Martin Keown to flick on Lee Chun-Soo’s outswinger and Park Ji-Sung sent the ball flying past David James after he had evaded Teddy Sheringham’s weak challenge.
