Holland and McAteer resume training

Matt Holland and Jason McAteer are expected to return to training with the Irish squad in Saipan today after sitting out yesterday’s training session.

The two players picked up minor ankle injuries yesterday, while manager Mick McCarthy was also forced to hand over the reins to his assistant, Lee Evans, after hurting his back.

The Irish squad are due to train twice today ahead of the pre-World Cup friendly with Hiroshima on Saturday.
