Beckham signs new United contract

David Beckham has signed a new contract with Manchester United that keeps him at the club at least until the end of June 2005.

Protracted negotiations were eventually completed today and the new deal is believed to be worth between £90,000 and £100,000 a week.

‘‘The club has bent over backwards to be fair in their dealings with me and I always knew that Manchester United were the only club I ever wanted to play for,’’ said Beckham.
