Ferguson deal crucial boost to Gers' title hopes

Rangers manager Alex McLeish believes captain Barry Ferguson’s new deal will prove crucial as they bid to wrest the Scottish Premier League title from Celtic next season.

McLeish himself is set to discuss a new deal with Ibrox chairman David Murray next week but was delighted to hear Ferguson would be staying at the club despite three bids from other clubs.
