West Ham manager Glenn Roeder believes certain clubs make it a deliberate policy to unsettle his players in a bid to lure them away from Upton Park.

And after it today emerged Liverpool had shown reported interest in midfielder Michael Carrick, Roeder issued a strong warning that any enquiries for his ‘priceless’ young stars would be a ‘‘complete waste of time’’.
