Bayer skipper stretchered off

Bayer Leverkusen skipper Jens Nowotny has been stretchered off the pitch injured in their Champions League semi-final at the BayArena.

Nowotny, who had to have a painkilling injection before the match, went in hard in a tackle with Manchester United's Ruud van Nistelrooy and has aggravated his injury.

Zoltán Sebescen came on for Nowotny, but plays at right-back with Boris Zivkovic moving across to centre-half.
