Soccer: Sherwood faces fitness test

Tottenham midfielder Tim Sherwood faces a late check on a gashed leg before tomorrow’s Premiership match against Liverpool at White Hart Lane but is expected to be fit to play.

Fears that Steffen Iversen had suffered a cracked jaw in last week’s 1-1 draw at Bolton proved unfounded as he came through training today.

Manager Glenn Hoddle has added youngster John Jackson to his squad.
