Soccer: Euro 2008 bid can succeed - Taoiseach

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has insisted that Ireland’s joint bid to host the 2008 European Championships can go ahead with the proposed National Stadium in west Dublin.

Mr Ahern said he believes the Ireland-Scotland bid is in a strong position to win.
