Premiership: Coventry sack Nilsson and Smith
British First Division side Coventry have sacked their manager, Roland Nilsson, and his assistant, Jim Smith, over the club’s performance this season.
Chairman Mike McGinnity and chief executive Graham Hover made the decision following a meeting with the pair today.
Speaking after the talks, McGinnity said: "We understand the fans’ frustration completely, in addition to the need for immediate change. The board has therefore decided to terminate the contracts of Roland Nilsson and Jim Smith with immediate effect."
