Manchester City have promoted Arthur Cox to assistant manager from his position of chief scout.

Cox, who was Newcastle boss when the Magpies signed Kevin Keegan as a player in the early 1980s and has also managed Derby, will maintain his role as chief scout as well as becoming the former England manager’s right-hand man.
