Premiership: Adams aims to create new Foxes dynasty
New Leicester boss Micky Adams believes he can follow in the footsteps of Martin O'Neill and create a new dynasty at the club.
Adams took charge of the Foxes for the first time in their friendly against Celtic.
Unsurprisingly, Adams' managerial debut was overshadowed by the return of O'Neill for the first time since he left Leicester to take over as boss of Parkhead.
In four years under O'Neill, Leicester finished 10th, ninth, 10th and eighth, while they also won the old Coca-Cola Cup and the Worthington Cup.
Now Adams has the unenviable task of attempting to win promotion back to the top flight.
Adams said: "Since moving to the county I have lost count of the number of occasions Martin's name and achievements have been mentioned.
"He deserves all the accolades he gets, and he certainly deserves a place in the hearts of Leicester fans for what he did. But that era is in the past.
"I've got to try and achieve something similar to what he did. It's not going to be easy, I know that. But I'm not fazed by the task."
He added: "Everybody is excited about moving into the new stadium next season and let's hope we've a team to match - I am confident we will - although there is no miracle cure.
"The important thing is to get everybody fit in pre-season, and I'm sure we will be competitive in the First Division, but there's a lot of hard work to be done and that is why I'm in the job."
"Most relegated sides undergo a period of change and we will be no different. The final four Premiership matches of the season will afford me an opportunity to take stock of the current situation."
