Champions League: Panathinaikos record famous victory
Panathinaikos will travel to the Nou Camp with a spring in their step after recording a famous win over Barcelona in tonight's Champions League quarter-final in Athens.
The underdogs stole the game late in the second half with a penalty from Basinas after Kolkka was brought down in the box.
Barcelona were piling on the pressure and it looked it would go their way when they brought on Rivaldo after 71 minutes.
However, this spurred the home side on and their break came just seven minutes later when Kolkka burst into the box.
Abelardo cut across and brought the Finn down but there was more than a suspicion that he played the ball first.
But the referee pointed to the spot and Basinas found the net from the resulting penalty kick.
It was to be the only goal of the game. Chances were hard to come by for both teams in the first half.
Barcelona looked the more likely but Overmars and Kluiverts failed to break down a well-organised home defence.
The second half continued in the same vein and it seemed only a matter of time before the visitors scored.
But Panathanaikos got the break and they held on for a famous victory.
