Sean Francis scored twice as Shamrock Rovers confirmed a European place as they inflicted an eighth successive defeat on relegated Galway.

Francis scored on 17 and 37 minutes to have Rovers in control by half-time.

Skipper Derek Tracey added the third goal six minutes into the second half.

Whether Rovers enter the UEFA Cup or the InterToto Cup is now dependent on St Patrick's Athletic's appeal over being docked 15 points.
