eircom League: St Pat's get seventh consecutive win

Colm Foley scored a 69th minute winner to make it seven wins on the spin for St. Pat's to give them the title in theory.

Foley was on hand to tap home after a free kick into the Dundalk area from Martin Russell came off defender Stephen McGuinness.

On points won, Saints are the champions but they must now wait to see what happens in their appeal to have a 15-points deduction reversed for fielding an unregistered player.

Dundalk had the better of the first half but James Keddy had a shot blocked by Foley and Darragh Maguire also cleared from David Hoey.

Dundalk must now hope that St. Pat's can do them a favour by beating Longford Town in Sunday's final game. If not, Dundalk are relegated.
