Soccer: Breen fitness boost for Ireland

Mick McCarthy has been boosted by the news that Coventry defender Gary Breen has reported fit for duty for the Republic of Ireland’s friendly international against Denmark on Wednesday.

Republic boss McCarthy feared Breen would become the sixth player to withdraw from his original squad of 25, after the player failed to appear for Coventry in yesterday’s 1-1 with Birmingham.
