Soccer: McCarthy facing midfield headache

Ireland manager Mick McCarthy could be forced to make a number of late call-ups to his squad for the friendly game against Denmark after Lee Carsley and Kevin Kilbane withdrew from the squad yesterday.

Both players picked up injuries during club action on Saturday, while Gary Breen is also doubtful after failing to line out for Coventry due to a hamstring strain.
