Cambridge boss John Taylor had no complaints about his side's 4-1 defeat in the LDV Vans Trophy final.

Paul Wanless had pulled Cambridge back into the game with a first-half penalty to cancel out John Murphy's opener, but goes from Chris Clarke, John Hills and Scott Taylor finally finished off United.

Taylor said: Taylor said: "We got absolutely torn apart in the second half. A knife through butter comes to mind.

"I've got no complaints. We got beaten by a far better side than ours and they deserved to win.

"For 20 minutes they got right at us, we didn't start very well but we weathered the storm and for the last 20 minutes of the first half we had some decent play.

"In all honesty I think the occasion got to some of the boys a bit but we'll learn from it.

"The only really disappointing thing is that there are ways to lose and we didn't lose well."
