World Cup: Akinbiyi considered for place
Ade Akinbiyi could yet face England in the World Cup - for Nigeria.
Akinbiyi struggled at Leicester before being signed by Crystal Palace in February for £2.25m.
he has scored just once for the Eagles since making his move, but Nigeria coach Festus Onigbinde insists he is a player who he may consider for his final squad.
Nigeria are in England's group and are their last opponents in the first round when they meet on June 12 in Osaka.
Onigbinde told The Mirror: "Ade is already on my list as one of the players I want to have a look at for the World Cup.
"I intend to have a chat with him. Some of these players are unfortunate sometimes. They fall into the wrong hands and they are badly used."
