eircom League: Shels stay top of Eircom league
In the big game of the day at home Shelbourne defeated Shamrock Rovers 2-0 at Tolka Park to go seven points clear at the top of the Eircom League Premier Division.
A Pat Deans own-goal and another first-half strike from Owen Heary was good enough to give Shels the points. They still have a heavy task, however, given that second place Saint Pats have three games in hand.
