Premiership: Disciplinary hearings for Vieira, Viduka and Smith

Arsenal and Leeds will find out whether Patrick Vieira, Alan Smith and Mark Viduka will be disciplined by the Football Association.

Vieira faces a charge of elbowing Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink on St Stephen's day.

Viduka is accused of elbowing Martin Keown in January, while Smith could be in hot water after a clash which Graeme Le Saux left concussed almost four months ago.

The Leeds duo's cases will be heard this morning. Vieira's case will follow.

Arsenal already have Thierry Henry serving a three-match suspension for his December tirade against Graham Poll after a defeat by Newcastle.

Henry's ban came into immediate effect for last weekend's FA Cup tie at Newcastle because Arsene Wenger decided not to appeal.

By the same token, if Arsenal abide by any possible suspension for Vieira, it would be effective from Sunday's match at Aston Villa.

Wenger said: "I don't want to speculate before the hearing, we will just try to defend Patrick in relation to what they say and see what they do.

"He has been charged and what can I do about it? It was a big surprise and we will try to defend him as best we can and then try and take on board what the FA decides.

"Maybe they are more severe on elbows than anything else. But only the FA can explain their position."
