Liam Coyle rescued Derry again after UCD looked like earning their fourth win on the spin when David Quinn met Darragh Ryan's in swinging corner to head past Russell Payne for a 31st minute lead.

Payne had earlier done well to save a Robbie Martin shot while Derry's Tommy McCallion cracked a shot off a post.

But Derry put their FAI Cup disappointment of Sunday behind them to fight back and net a 92nd minute goal to save a point.

Substitute Coyle was fouled on the edge of the area and, just as he did last month at Belfield, he curled a free kick to the back of the net.
