Newcastle’s Barclaycard Premiership clash with Blackburn has been rearranged to accommodate their FA Cup quarter-final replay.

Bobby Robson’s side were due to meet Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday, March 23 for a 5.35pm kick-off.

But that is the date set for the Magpies’ replay with Arsenal at Highbury, and the league game will now take place on Tuesday April 23 kick-off 8pm and will be shown live on Sky Sports.

The match - which could have a major say in Newcastle’s Champions League qualification campaign - will now be sandwiched in between Saturday home games against Charlton and West Ham and nine days after a potential FA Cup semi-final clash with derby rivals Middlesbrough.

Arsenal’s FA Barclaycard Premiership clash with West Ham, also scheduled for March 23, will also need rescheduling.
