Ireland have moved closer to qualifying for the under-17 European Championships after beating Slovenia 3-0 at Belfield Park last night.

Willo Flood scored twice after Paul Murphy had given Ireland the lead on 55 minutes.

In the other qualifying game last night, Yugoslavia beat Cyprus 4-0 to go even on points and goal difference with the Irish.

Tomorrow’s game between Ireland and Yugoslavia will decide who qualifies for the finals next month.
