Leeds boss David O’Leary remained upbeat despite his side’s failure to make the most of their opportunities in tonight’s UEFA Cup goalless draw away to PSV Eindhoven.

Leeds created plenty of chances but could not find the net in the first leg of their fourth-round tie.

O’Leary said after the final whistle: ‘‘I am disappointed, but pleased.

‘‘It was the first time in a long time that I have been able to put out a team that I wanted.

‘‘I thought we stuck to our task well and kept our shape. We created chances, and it is a pity that we did not take them.’’

UEFA Cup latest scores:

Lille 0-0 Bor Dortmund

Inter Milan 1-1 AEK Athens

Zanetti 14 Zagorakis 8
