Longford Town today learned the full extent of their punishment for the triple sendings-off against Shelbourne earlier this month.

Leading scorer Eric Levine was dismissed in the seventh minute of the eircom League match at Tolka Park on February 1 for two bookable offences - and he was followed Vinny Perth and Stuart Byrne for similar indiscretions.

Shels took full advantage to win the game 3-0 against their eight-man opponents and today, the league’s disciplinary commission added to Longford’s misery. Levine was suspended for three games, Perth for two matches and Byrne for one, each of them picking up fines of €51.

Also dealt with by the disciplinary commission were Monaghan United duo Robbie Brunton and Trevor Vaughan. Both picked up one-match bans for reaching five and eight penalty points respectively.

St Patrick’s Athletic assistant manager Eamonn Collins also paid the price for his dismissal from the dugout against Bohemians. He was banned from the technical area for three matches and fined €127.

The bans come into effect on Wednesday, February 27.
